- Ultra Xvid Codec Pack Mac
- K-lite Codec Pack Mac
- Media Player Codec Pack Windows 10
- Combined Community Codec Pack For Mac
- Codec Community Pack For Macbook Pro
The K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of audio and video codecs for Microsoft WindowsDirectShow that enables an operating system and its software to play various audio and video formats generally not supported by the operating system itself. The K-Lite Codec Pack also includes several related tools, including Media Player Classic Home Cinema (MPC-HC), Media Info Lite, and Codec Tweak Tool.[3]
These codec packs are compatible with Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10. Old versions also with XP. The packs include both 32-bit and 64-bit codecs, so they work great on both x86 and x64 variants of Windows! Basic: Small but extremely powerful! Already contains everything you need to. A workaround to all this trouble is installing a codec pack that already has everything a media player needs to correctly load movies and music. Tailor-made for Windows 10 users, Windows 10 Codec.
K-Lite adds Video for Windows (VFW) codecs and DirectShow filters to the system, so that DirectShow/VFW based players like MPC, Winamp, and Windows Media Player will use them automatically.
Editions[edit]
There are four editions of the K-Lite Codec Pack, all free of charge.[3]
- Basic: The Basic edition is the smallest version and enables a Microsoft Windows computer to play the contents of AVI, Matroska (MKV), MP4, Ogg, Flash Video (FLV) and WebM files, etc. It only consists of LAV Filters (for audio and video decoding), DirectVobSub (for subtitle decoding), Codec Tweak Tool, Icaros ThumbnailProvider, and Icaros PropertyHandler.[4] Basic is the only edition that includes neither MPC-HC nor MediaInfo Lite.[5]
- Standard: The Standard edition includes all features of the Basic edition plus madVR, MediaInfo Lite, and MPC-HC.[6] This package is recommended for normal users.[3]
- Full: The Full edition includes all features of the Standard edition plus ffdshow, DScaler5 MPEG-2 decoder, DC-Bass Source Mod, Haali Media Splitter, Haali Video Renderer, and GraphStudioNext.[7]
- Mega: The Mega edition includes all features of the Full edition plus ACM and VFW codecs for video encoding/editing, AC3Filter, Haali Matroska Muxer, FourCC Changer, and VobSubStrip.[8]
After version 10.0.0, 64-bit codecs are integrated into the regular editions. Prior to this version there was a 64-bit edition designed specifically for 64-bit OSes.
After version 11.3.0, the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of LAV Filters share their settings, and an option to install only 64-bit codecs was added (visible only in Expert install mode).
After version 13.7.5, a user can remove installed components by deselecting them while running an updater. This also makes it possible to switch to a smaller variant of the codec pack without uninstalling first.
In the past some editions of the K-Lite Codec Pack included BS.Player, until it was supplemented with an adware package.[9]
Compatibility[edit]
K-Lite Codec Packs are compatible with Windows 2003 and later.[10]
The last version that is compatible with Windows XP SP3 is version 13.8.5.[11]
Starting with K-Lite version 10.0.0, 64-bit codecs were integrated into the regular K-Lite Codec Pack. Previously, a separate 64-bit edition of the pack was available for x64 editions of Windows.[12]

The Combined Community Codec Pack, more commonly referred to by its acronym CCCP, is a collected archive of codecs (video compression filters) packed for Microsoft Windows, designed originally for the playback of animefansubs.[2] The CCCP is developed and maintained by members of various fansubbing groups.
The name is a pun on the name of the Soviet Union; namely, the Cyrillic alphabet version of the abbreviation of its full name (Сою́з Сове́тских Социaлисти́ческих Респу́блик). As part of the joke, the project's logo features the hammer and sickle and star from the Flag of the Soviet Union.
The CCCP was last updated on 2015-10-18.
Purpose[edit]
CCCP was created to fulfill the following:
- Alleviate the major problems caused by conflicting codec packs
- Provide a video media playback standard for the anime community
- Be capable of playing back most common video media files and formats
- Be easy to install and uninstall — even for users with no technical knowledge
Ultra Xvid Codec Pack Mac
The pack is small and compact, containing only what is needed for most videos; it intentionally disables support for many codecs it considers unnecessary. It thus can potentially avoid problems caused by inappropriate combinations of filters by providing an all-inclusive playback solution. To view a CCCP-approved video, one must simply theoretically uninstall all other codec packs and install the CCCP. This philosophy leads to some disadvantages; since many formats are not enabled by default, they have to be manually toggled by the user if needed. Additionally, unlike many competing packs, CCCP is designed around decoding rather than encoding, and as such doesn't include many video encoders that other packs do.
The CCCP is made only for the Microsoft Windowsoperating system and works with Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10. The last release to support Windows 2000 is 2010-10-10; the last release to support Windows 98/Me is 2007-02-22.
Reception[edit]
In 2006, On2 began recommending the CCCP as a simple decoding solution to feed video and audio to their Flix encoding application.[3] The CCCP staff recommends to not use On2's included registry patch, but rather turn on or off any necessary codecs within the CCCP settings menu.[citation needed] In 2009, the German C't magazine recommended CCCP as the only trustworthy Codec pack available today.[4]
Technical details[edit]
Contents[edit]
- Note: Installing all of these separately will not have the same effect as installing the CCCP because the Media Player Classic Home Cinema is customized and so are all of the components' settings.[5]
- Gabest's FLV Splitter
- Haali Media Splitter
- LAV filters
- Media Player Classic Home Cinema lite (custom build)
- xy-VSFilter
CCCP adds Video for Windows (VFW) codecs and DirectShow filters to the system, so that DirectShow/VFW based players like MPC, Winamp, and Windows Media Player will use them automatically.
